The CWOCN or CWON serves as the clinical resource and consultant for the acute, chronic, and rehabilitative care of patients with selected disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems, such as complex draining wounds, ostomies, fistulae, dermal ulcers, tubes, and incontinence. The CWOCN or CWON should be prepared to provide the scope of the CWOCN or CWON practice which also includes other components such as education, counseling, research, and administration.

What You Bring/Job Requirements

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

  • BSN required
  • Current CO licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Current Board Certification as a CWOCN or CWON - maintains recertification every 5 years per WOCNCBstandards
  • 1 year RN experience
  • CWOCN or CWON Certification or other clinical experience which indicates a successful transition to this career path
  • Current Colorado RN license OR Current RN license from a participating state in National Licensure
  • Compact Current BLS certification from American Heart Association required
  • CWOCN/CWON Certification

Physical Requirements - Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly
