Job Description

Recovery/Ambulatory Nurse
£28,000 - £30,000

Develop your career as you provide the highest levels of care.

Combining the skills of a committed team of medical professionals with the most modern equipment and progressive technology, the Spire Healthcare model is something we’re immensely proud of. It has given birth to a growing number of hospitals and clinics, all committed to providing the level of excellence that sets industry standards. And now you can join us.

Working in Spire Portsmouth Hospital, you’ll be there for our valued patients as you complete perioperative duties including the assessment and planning of their care plan. Explaining any procedures, you’ll evaluate their healthcare needs and risks, obtaining informed consent and arranging the details of any relevant attention to be provided in the ambulatory/recovery area. Putting the patient’s wellbeing above all else, you will prepare for all perioperative intervention options, displaying a high level of nursing skills.

As you will be handling sensitive information and data, your interpersonal skills will be exemplary – as will your willingness to work as part of a team. With a good knowledge of legislation, policies and procedures relevant to your work within the theatre environment, you will be keen to develop your own skills by taking up the training options offered to you. As a registered nurse with relevant experience in a caring capacity, you have meticulous standards and actively look for ways in which we can improve our processes over time. You will also be confident selecting and using the relevant equipment for procedures, and will have excellent infection control knowledge. If you are working towards a post-registration qualification, that would be an added bonus.

Our commitment to the wellbeing of our patients is matched by our commitment to the career satisfaction of our staff, so if you’re ready to work in an environment where your happiness is of genuine interest to your employers, then we’ve got the perfect role for you.
