What You Will Do

As an Associate with St. Mary's of Michigan-MI, you will have the opportunity to conduct medically prescribed physical therapy under the supervision of a physical therapist.

You will:

  • Provide physical therapy interventions under a plan of care written by a physical therapist.
  • Performstherapy interventions utilizing techniques and skills as appropriate for the patient population.
  • Document treatment interventions given.
  • May coordinate activities of physical therapy aides, students and other support personnel.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Educate patients and family/caregiver about patient deficits. Assists with patient discharge planning. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):
    • Certified BLS Provider obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Licensed Rehab Therapist specializing in Physical Therapy Asst obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • Associate Degree
    • Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program required and None required.
